Dr Sherif attends to newborns at Covenant Health Hospital in Hobbs. Dr Sherif has been experienced with high risk deliveries, premature babies, sick babies with different health conditions at birth. If a baby is born ill, he and his team do their best to stabilize and treat the infant locally at the hospital. If the condition requires a higher level of care, he will transport your baby to the closest neonatal ICU.

 

For normal healthy newborns, we do routine care and check up in the first 1-2 days of life at the hospital before going home with their mothers. We recommend to see them back within 2-3 days after discharge at the clinic for feedings, weight, umbilical cord and jaundice check-ups.

 

At the Nursery we perform services and procedures such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, surfactant administration into the lungs, Umbilical venous line placement, Neonatal resuscitation, treatment of sepsis and other life threatening conditions, photo therapy for jaundice, male circumcisions and many others.
